Twin Peaks Fest 2003

Well, the fest was great again as always. I posted a bunch of pics from the 2003 fest in my photo gallery for those who want a peek.

I think the best way to sum it up would be to just repost something I wrote on the Twin Peaks Gazette message board. The names won't make sense to most people, and it was really written directly to people, but it still gives you an idea of my appreciation for the fest and those who attended.

Susan, David, and Josh, it is because of you that the Twin Peaks Fest has been the best EVER these last two years. Thanks you for all the time, effort, and money you've put into organizing it...those who will be running it in the future definitely have their work cut out for them!

John Neff, it was really cool to be able to talk with you a bit more this year, and as usual your performance was down right amazing! It was one of my highlights from the fest. Thanks to you for putting in the time to mix and prepare for your amazing performance and for everything else you helped out with that I might not know about. It would be a shame if you didn't show next year...though it is obviously understandable. Maybe you can just attend and not perform?

Thanks to the actors for being so easy to talk to, having interesting stories, and just being so damn cool! I hope that you all enjoyed the fest as much as the fans did. You help keep the Twin Peaks community alive, especially those who go year after year. I am humbled by all of your generosity. Thanks to each of you for taking out the time to attend! And a special thanks to Kimmy for always being so amazing.

Rebekah Del Rio, your performance was haunting and beautiful! I wish you all kinds of success with your career and would love if you could perform again next year. You brought many festival attendees to tears with your singing, a sign of great talent.

Ok, ok, now I've just got to throw in as many fan names as possible that I chatted with because you are the guys who I hang out with most at the fest and you guys just are the best! John Walker, LostEraser, KahlanMnel, 12rainbow, Surlyclown, EnableSecret, One Suave Folk, Dan Miller, one_suave_dugpa & Bill, Robin & Dave, Charlene & Adam H., Leslie & Brandon, Rogaine2 & Irene, Kieron & Laura, it was great to see all of you returners. And for those who I met for the first time, Jordan & Kelly, Samara, BoxOfScrews & Chris, 2cats, Samantha, Audrey82, Millicent & Eddie, it was great to chat with all of you.

For those who have never been to the festival, you need to go! It is hard to put into words, but whenever I go to the fest, and more so this year than previously (I think it increases with time), there is such a tremendous sense of belonging and just camaraderie...nothing compares to it for me. It's funny; I was very hesitant about going this year...but did decide to go. Then with power trouble at the airport, I almost decided not to go again. But once I was there at the fest...I couldn't believe that I even thought about not going! I guess that the passing of a year blurred my sense of how great the fest is. It is thanks to everyone mentioned above and all of those that I forgot (sorry) that the fest is such an amazing environment to live in..if just for 3 days.
