Stevie Nicks in CT, Boston, and CSH summer orientations

Date published: July 20, 2001

This last week was full of events. Around 4:00am last Friday I hopped in my car to drive to Connecticut, where at 11:00am I met up with my mom. We just hung out for a bit and went to the mall. That obviously wasn't the point of me driving the 350 miles to Connecticut from Rochester, NY though. It was to go to my very first concert! Some may debate that this wasn't actually my first concert, that I had gone to a Grateful Dead concert back in '95...this is true...but there were over 100,000 people there...I don't even recall if I saw the stage...but that's a whole different story. This concert had about 11,000 people in attendance at the music hall. And who you might as was the headliner? It was Stevie Nicks and Sheryl Crow! Needless to say it was an amazing concert and I loved every minute of it. If you'd like to hear more details about it, check out the site NicksFix.com, there is a section where fans comment on Hartford, CT concert here.

The next day at 2:00pm I headed out for Boston, Mass. to visit Sean Graham, a good friend who I've known for several years at RIT. I stayed with him for the rest of the weekend. He toured me around Harvard Square, we visited some more friends, and we also went to a mall. Needless to say we chatted for quite a bit too...up until I noticed a blue light glowing from behind the shades in his apartment...yep, that's right...it was morning. When time allows, there is nothing more cool than just talking with people until the sun comes up.

Sunday night at about 10:00pm, I left Boston, Mass. and headed back to Rochester. I walked in the door at exactly 4:20am and proceeded to my bed, where I collapsed to to being so tired. So now it's Monday. Another good friend of mine, Kevin Stadmeyer, arrived and spent the next couple days in Rochester visiting people and just hanging out. It was definitely good to see him. Summers can get pretty boring, and one misses all the people that are around during the school year, so getting to hang out with Kevin again cheered me up.

Kevin left around 7:00am Thursday morning, and later in the day I filled out some paperwork for the apartment that I will be moving into starting August 1st. Oh yeah, and one more thing that happened, on Monday and Wednesday, CSH had get togethers with the incoming freshman at RIT who were interested in the House. There was a fair amount of interesting people that showed up. I chatted with them for a while answering their questions and such. I really enjoying meeting and learning about people, so this was fun as well.

A lot of good, fun events...now it's time to get a bit more caught up on my sleep :)
