Mom's visit, Geocaching, and the High Falls Historic District

Date published: March 17, 2003

After a weekend long visit, I dropped my mom off at the airport today for her flight back to Vermont. Among other things we did this weekend, on Sunday I took my mom on her first geocache, the Cobb's Hill Cache. It was extremely warm that day and the snow was melting quickly. Unfortunately though, this meant that is was a bit muddy in the woods. On our way to the cache, we both fell and got a bit muddy. At the same time, I dropped the GPS causing it's battery compartment to come open. We never found the batteries, but luckily we found the backing to the battery compartment. Also luckily, we were only 10 feet from the cache, and I found it without the GPS.

After the cache, we made a trip up to the High Falls Historic District. The sun was at a perfect angle so that we saw a rainbow in the falls. For some pictures of the area, check out the High Falls Historic District photos that I took. There were also some deer there too.

The prior days of the weekend were filled up with going to Thai food at the King and I, going to see the movie Chicago, and watching some other movies here at my apartment. Oh yeah, and my mom also wanted to go get some yarn. She wanted to find a specific type of yarn. She ordered some yarn because they didn't have this specific type she wanted. She also got this really cool colored yarn tho. I took a picture of it just because the coloring was so cool. It's pictured below.
