Annual High Ed Web Dev conference: That's a wrap!

Date published: November 13, 2005

This year's High Ed Web Dev look

For the last several months, a group of other Rochester Web professionals working in higher education and I have been working to put together the logistics for this year's HighEdWebDev conference. At the same time, another group of Web professionals working in higher education but from all over the US were putting together the seminars/workshops/presentations. All our work finally paid off this past Sunday through Wednesday.

I was the social chair so I was charged with making sure the social outing and other non-technical parts to the conference ran smoothly. For the social outing, we bused 275 of the attendees to George Eastman House. Beside touring the galleries, eating, and listening to the pipe organ being played, people could also play a little George Eastman House trivia scavenger hunt created by Lori P. from the University of Rochester and me. The winner (drawn at random) won a Kodak EasyShare digital camera.

Anyway, I don't feel like recounting the whole conference, needless to say, there was a lot of great information at the sessions, and there were some great networking opportunities. It's always great to know that other people are in similar situations as one's own.

It was a hectic time making sure everything was going well, and I'm glad it's over with. I just now feel like I have caught back up with my sleep schedule. For more info about the conference, check out the HighEdWebDev site.
